It was a complete honour to be asked to take the lead on the planning of Carol & John’s wedding celebrations as they were the first ever couple to actually marry at Stancliffe Hall. Their ceremony was to be held in the fabulous 1816 Room, which was the original school chapel and provides a charming, historic & intimate setting … I couldn’t wait to get started. Carol works away for much of the week, so our correspondence was mainly by email, with catch ups by phone & a couple of face to face visits at home & at Stancliffe.
Over a couple of months I worked through seven versions of the plan, coordinating all the suppliers & the requirements for the Hall team, until it absolutely represented how Carol & John envisaged their dream wedding. I also helped them to source a really great singer, Alison Ward, who played a key role on their wedding day.
I met Carol & John the day before their wedding at the hall to go through the table lay-outs and last minute queries & from then on, they were able to sit back & relax in the knowledge that with such a detailed outline, the team at Stancliffe were able to deliver an experience that exceeded their expectations … their words … Mine?… I’m pleased that they had such an amazing time & that I got to play a part in the history of Stancliffe Hall. I’m also grateful to Karl at the aptly named Stancliffe Studios for capturing the day.
